The Garage Door Company Ltd Is looking to recruit an Area Sales Manager for Bristol and the surrounding areas.

The Garage Door Company is the largest retailer of garage doors in the UK with 13 branches, selling and installing GARAGE DOORS to trade and domestic customers.

This is a varied role that would suit an individual looking at gaining valuable experience within an expanding company and industry.

The role would ideally suit someone with experience from the following trades building, windows, doors, or any home improvement industry as you will conducting a full site survey to ensure the door our customers want will be suitable for said property.

The successful candidate will be visiting mainly pre-arranged appointments that will lead to surveying customer’s properties/sites, whilst offering advice and suggestions based on your findings of the survey. The aim of each site visit is to sell our product whilst upholding our high company values and charters.

Communication is key, as you have to liaise with both the Branch Manager and the fitting teams on your survey results. Attention to detail is also paramount and excellent customer service has to be offered at all times.

You must be computer literate as all surveys are conducted using a tablet device

The hours of work are 8.30am until job finish, then one Saturday per month 9-1pm

As this is a driving role all candidates must hold a full valid British driving licence. Company car and mobile phone are provided. Full training will be given.

This is an expanding company fitting quality garage doors to residential properties, as a business The Garage Door Company also offers a repair service. This is a key role within the business.

You will need to effectively manage the Installations Teams at branch level maximising efficiency and minimising costs whenever possible without compromising the safety and welfare of employees and the general public.

One of your most important responsibilities in this role will be managing our teams of Installers, ensuring the work they carry out is to the highest standards, in line with our customers’ expectations, achieving the required quality work standards.

This will involve a large amount of supervisory work day to day you will also be required to

  • Meet Targets
  • Manage stock/take delivery of stock
  • Follow Health & Safety procedures
  • Communicate with customers
  • Hold regular meetings
  • Deal with customers face to face/manage customer expectations
  • Assist the Branch Manager in the general running of the branch/business
  • Schedule work effectively using our dedicated computer system
  • Conduct vehicle checks
  • Ensure Installations are carried out to company procedure
  • Manage cash handling/cash procedures/cash control
  • Reduce remedial works
  • Liaise with our preferred suppliers/manufacturers

This role is often the first point of contact for customers, who may need assistance with orders, requests and complaints therefore the ideal candidate for the role should be efficient and adaptable with good all-round administrative abilities, including a working knowledge of spread sheets. They must have excellent customer service skills and be good organisers.

A willingness to learn is a must, motivation and determination is essential. Each day will be varied and interesting.

Experience preferred but not essential or a background in a similar field IE window fitting, carpentry, building/site management would be advantageous /beneficial.

As a Customer Engagement Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for our customers.

You will be handling customer orders, amendments and cancellation requests, as well as scheduling appointments and dealing with general product related enquiries.

Experience of inbound and outbound calling is advantageous.

This role is an outside based position and requires heavy manual work.

Ongoing training and support will be given. All successful applicants receive full training on how to install our garage doors.
